Saturday

  • 9:00 AM: Arrive at the ferry terminal, check in, and prepare for departure (arrive at least 30 minutes early; doors close 5 minutes before departure).

  • 9:30-10:45 AM: Ferry ride to Two Harbors. You’ll enjoy coastal views along the 1-hour 15-minute journey.

  • 11:00 AM: Dock at Two Harbors, disembark, and start the half-mile walk to campsite TH42.

  • 12:00 PM: Set up camp and enjoy lunch.

  • Afternoon: Free time to explore the island, hike, swim, snorkel, or just relax. Two Harbors has trails and scenic spots to check out.

  • Evening: Settle in, prepare dinner, and enjoy the night. The campsite includes fire pits, but you’ll need to bring your own firewood or purchase charcoal from the island shop. You can also pay to have firewood delivered.

Sunday

  • 8:00-9:00 AM: Wake up, enjoy breakfast, and break down camp.

  • 11:15 AM: Arrive at the ferry port in Two Harbors.

  • 11:45-1:00 PM: Return ferry ride.

  • Evening: Back in Phoenix by approximately 8:00 PM.

Gear List

  • Camping Essentials:

    • Tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad

    • Backpack for easy transport of essentials

    • Jacket, pants, hat, and gloves (temperatures in the 50s-60s (most of the year, summers are much warmer), with ocean breezes)

  • Food and Water:

    • Bring your meals (the on-site restaurant and bar are available but limited and relatively expensive).

    • Water is available at the campground, but you may want to bring some or buy extra on the island.

  • Cooking & Fire Supplies:

    • Firewood (bring your own or purchase on the island); or buy charcoal and a lighter for fire starting.

    • Optional: cooking equipment if you plan on preparing meals over a fire.

  • Campground Facilities (provided):

    • Showers, toilets, potable water, picnic tables, and fire pits.

  • Personal Items:

    • Wet wipes for convenience (although restrooms are equipped).

    • Portable phone chargers for devices.

Additional Tips:

  • Transportation: The campsite is a short walk from the ferry dock, but you can pay for gear transportation if you’d rather not carry everything.

  • Costs: The ferry is $92 round-trip, and an 8-person campsite at Two Harbors costs $234 per night.
