Breakfast: Fried Spam & Bread

A can of spam and a bag of pre-made bread, cooked on a pan over a fire or with a portable stove. Add some honey and butter to the bread for the best bread you’ll ever eat in your life.

Campfire Bread Dough Recipe:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for kneading

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder (for unleavened bread that doesn’t require rising)

  • 3/4 cup water or as needed

  • 2 tablespoons oil (olive oil or vegetable oil), plus extra for cooking

At-Home Preparation:

  1. Dough Mix: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add the oil and gradually mix in water until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it's smooth, about 5 minutes.

  2. Packing: Place the kneaded dough in a sturdy, resealable plastic bag. Ensure all the air is squeezed out before sealing. The dough can be kept cool and transported in a cooler or the coldest part of your backpack.
