Wheeler Peak - New Mexico's highest peak

Conquered Wheeler Peak, another state highpoint down. My fourth one now, not much to totally say about this one, the winds were so narly that I did not want to record a lot and my hands were constantly in my pockets from electing to only bring glove liners. Cloudy summit for Wheeler, on the way down, I chose to do Walter Peak as well to get two 13er's in a day. The overall hike was about 9 miles total, 3,000 feet of vert, completed in under 6 hours. Saw a few others who did this hike on the first of October on what was supposed to be the last "good" weekend to hike in Taos. The weather still help up alright, with no lighting, but early morning rain left it humid all day. Kept it light, La Sportiva hiking shoes, ingini socks, leggings and hiking pants, a long sleeved compression shirt with a wind breaker, and then my REI trail runner pack.
